Why model

It is a vicious cycle unless we start with small models. But it shows two additional loops - one balancing loop describing the situation if people have modeled a lot and think they see the interconnections without another model. And one where people who have modeled just develop descriptive models of systems as they see them even without a model. At least they share there mental models. Actually, we know many modelers who still insist that a model has to use as few factors as possible and who consider the explorative questioning behind the KNOW WHY Method an unnecessary effort.
